Our big news this month is the launch of the Fair Homes Project, a partnership between FACLT, Selwood Housing and Mendip District Council. The project described in more detail in the article below could result in up to 30 new social rented homes for local people in housing need. Of course we recognise that all housing development can cause difficulties for some people. This is why a careful community consultation process will take place, to ensure that the plans are sensitive to the needs and concerns of residents living close to proposed sites. Councillor John Clarke’s thoughtful article also looks at the challenge of balancing different needs within our Frome community.

Besides the big news FACLT’s directors, supporters and partners are continuing to beaver away at developing long-term projects that will create secure, genuinely affordable homes for the hundreds of local people who so desperately need them.
