The local elections are over and Frome has repeated what seems to be a tradition now of electing a fully independent town council with the Independents for Frome group taking all 17 seats. In the wider area, the planned demise of Mendip District Council saw elections to, what will become, the new unitary Somerset Council. Frome showed its green roots by electing four Green candidates as well as one Conservative and one Liberal Democrat. When it comes to local politics all that really matters to most of us is that our elected councillors, both town and county work for Frome and concentrate on the big issues affecting our town.
